The cruising season’s activities concluded with over 60 members and guests enjoying an excellent buffet supper from Ros’s Catering, then dancing the night away to music from the duo Mixed Emotion. We also had as guest of honour the founder member of the cruising group, Gordon McLaren. When Gordon joined  the club in early 2006, he asked if we had a cruising group – and was told “no – but if you’d like to start one …” - - - - And he did!

Gordon, supported by George Rich and others, established the format of weekend cruises in company, and winter talks, which continues now. Well done Gordon – a perfect example of volunteers making the club work! As was the whole evening, with organisation and tables decorated by Geraldine Warden, Isabel Gregg, and Marilyn Campbell, m/c’d by Simon Warden, and Neil Stuart and Gavin McGill behind the bar for the evening. We were also reminded of our past activities with a presentation of cruising members’ photographs collated by Evan Gregg (see this on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/LargsSC.)
